Our story

Firstly thank you so much for shopping with us! We hope you enjoy using our products as much as we enjoyed making them.

My name is Lizzie and I founded Isadora in March 2020, shortly after the coronavirus pandemic first hit the UK.

As a self-confessed homeware addict and with a passion for making candles in my spare time, I came up with the concept of Isadora. For a long time, I had been searching for amazing smelling homeware I could buy which was not only beautiful and easy to style in the home, but that was also kind to the planet and gave something back to the world. Right from the start, this combination of factors has been my main inspiration for Isadora. Our ethos is simple: kindness above all.

Named after the Greek goddess, Isadora is marketed as a luxury brand, and predominantly aimed at the high-end female gift and self-care market. Our products are not only of the highest quality, but they are designed to make people feel special – just like a goddess.

Each of our products is lovingly handmade by us, here in our workshop in Solihull; our candles are hand-poured, our diffusers hand-blended, and each product we sell is hand-packaged to ensure the best attention to detail possible.

I also wanted Isadora to stand out as a sustainable business. I believe that each of us have a responsibility to the earth, as well as to each other. For me it was not enough to just create high quality products without considering the environmental impact of them.

Every Isadora product has been carefully designed and curated to not just be beautiful and unique, but also environmentally friendly. As a result, we only use reputable UK suppliers who follow ethical principles and procure their items from sustainable sources.

We are proud to say that all our products are vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, and sold in recyclable packaging, derived from recycled sources where possible. You can read more about this here.

Lastly, each month we give 10% of our profits to a chosen charity. Giving back a portion of our success and supporting those less fortunate is something extremely important to me.

As Isadora grows, I want to be able to spread more of the kindness that we have been founded upon. So far since launching, we have supported charities such as Mind, Save the Children, Penny Appeal, Kings Heath Action for Refugees, Project Komba, Alder Hey Children's Hospital, and Crisis UK. We repeatedly ask our customers which causes they would like us to support, so that lots of different charities get the exposure and support they need.
